Porto is not a pizza city first. It is fish, francesinha, coffee, wine, rain at the wrong time, and hills that make you question your own personality. But some nights you want pizza. No drama. Just good dough and a table that does not turn dinner into another project.
I’ve lived around Gaia, Porto and Matosinhos, and my honest answer for pizza/pinsa is simple: Mille Pinsa Romana is the first one I send people to. After that it depends where you are, how hungry you are, and how much patience you still have left.

1. Mille Pinsa Romana
Mille is my number one for pizza or pinsa around Porto. It started as the Gaia place I would send people to, and now there is also a Porto centre place. Good news, but only if you go to the right one.
The base is light, crisp, and very easy to eat too much of. This is not a big speech. It is just the one I would choose first when someone says they want proper pizza and they dont want to gamble dinner.
Check the address before you go. Gaia is not Sao Bento. Sounds obvious, but hunger makes people stupid. I have been that person.

2. Farinha
Farinha is the easy central answer. If you are around Virtudes, Clerigos or Santa Catarina and want a proper sit-down pizza without turning the evening into research, this is a strong pick.
It is popular for a reason. Book or go early if you are more than two people, because Porto has a talent for making simple dinner plans suddenly complicated.
3. MUTI
MUTI is for the night when pizza is part of the evening, not just fuel. It is livelier, better with wine, and less of a “eat and disappear” place.
I would use it for friends, a casual date, or that dinner where nobody wants silence but everyone still wants the food to be good.
4. Pizzeria Bella Mia
Bella Mia is one of the stronger Neapolitan-style names in Porto. Small, busy, and not the place where I would casually drag a big group at peak hour and hope the gods fix it.
If you care about the dough and you can plan a little, put it high on the list.
5. Il Pizzaiolo
Il Pizzaiolo is useful because of location. Near Clerigos, near the centre, near places where people suddenly say “maybe we should eat?” after walking too much and drinking too little water.
Not my first emotional choice, but a practical one. And practical wins more often than romantic people admit.

6. Slice of Porto
Slice of Porto is for when you do not want a whole restaurant situation. Quick slice, central, done. Sometimes that is the correct answer.
Good near Clerigos if you are moving around and dont want lunch to become a two-hour negotiation.
7. Sourdough Pizza Porto
Sourdough Pizza Porto, the old Super Pizza setup, makes more sense if you are north of the centre or already around Antero de Quental. It is not the obvious tourist route, which can be a small mercy.
Use it when sourdough sounds better than another heavy, floppy pizza pretending to be deep and meaningful.
8. Grazie Mille
Grazie Mille is not only a pizza place, and that is why it is useful. One person wants pizza, someone else wants pasta, another wants burrata, and now you need peace more than purity.
For mixed groups in the centre, this kind of place saves time and small arguments.
9. Sergio Crivelli
Sergio Crivelli is the Matosinhos name I would keep in mind when you are out west and do not want the usual seafood route. It leans broader Italian, but pizza can be part of the plan.
Useful for mixed diets too, but if gluten or allergies matter, ask directly. Do not trust vague hope with your stomach.
10. Sapori Italiani
Sapori Italiani is the extra comparison name. Not the first one I shout about, but worth checking when you want another Italian pizzeria option and the obvious places are full.
There are similar names and listings around, so check the exact place before you start walking.
How I Choose
If I want the best bite, I start with Mille. If I want an easy central dinner, Farinha. If I want more of a night out, MUTI. If I am with a mixed group, Grazie Mille. If I am in Matosinhos, I check Sergio Crivelli before dragging everyone back to the centre like a fool.
Pizza Or Italian Dinner?

Bottom Line
Mille is my first pick. Farinha and MUTI are strong central choices. Bella Mia is good if you plan. Slice of Porto is for a quick fix. The rest depend on where you are and who you are eating with, which is usually the real problem in Porto anyway.
